Biography:

Uma Bhatt, Associate Professor; University of Pittsburgh, ‘83 B.S.E., B.A.; University of Wisconsin-Madison, ‘89 M.S., ‘96 Ph.D. Bhatt’s atomspheric sciences background is in climate variability and climate change. She has investigated the ocean’s influence on climate in the tropics and mid-latitudes using observations and global climate models. She joined UAF in 1998, working in the IARC/Frontier Group until 2003. In 2004, she joined the GI’s Atmospheric Sciences Group. She now works on high latitude climate issues, such as influence of sea ice on the atmosphere, multi-decadal variability, and influence of climate change on glaciers.
